The Job Search Lowdown

It’s Friday on the first week of my official job search and the ‘Write a Story’ Medium prompt looked especially appealing. Despite having a therapist, professional mentor and job search trainer all at a hands reach, I still need to talk. I need to vent, scream and relate to someone else on all of this. Hello Medium audience.

I just graduated from Lambda School with a full stack development endorsement. What that means is I know a whole lot more than I knew 18 months ago and I can build things now. After a week or so of celebrating and a week of holiday break, It’s on now. I’m currently unemployed and I’m expected to land a job in my new field where I will be making market value which would definitely at least double my previous salary. I can elaborate on my situation, what I’ve been through and where I came from but I’d say that’s for another day or a book deal from now.

Day One

Day 1 was cute. On a total whim I decided to switch from part-time (5pm-8pm)to full-time(10am-6pm). I let the student success team know and I made myself a schedule. I do have a whiteboard which I mostly use to draw things on, like my pumpkin pictured below for Thanksgiving. I plan to use it for code puzzles but for now my schedule looks good there.
